Pros & Cons

👍 Pros

Crochet knit provides real coverage, unlike sheer gauzy cover-ups
Lightweight and breathable enough for hot beach days
Versatile enough for beach-to-café or poolside lounging
Excellent 4.6★ average across 967 reviews

👎 Cons

Knit crochet pattern isn't fully opaque up close, so a swimsuit underneath matters
Sizing runs a bit relaxed/oversized according to some reviewers

🚫 Who this is NOT for If you want a fully opaque, structured beach dress rather than an open-knit relaxed cover-up, this crochet style may show more than you'd like up close.

Buying Guide: How to Choose

Decide how much coverage you actually need
Sheer gauze cover-ups look cute but offer little real coverage; a knit or crochet style like this one balances style with actual coverage.
Check the sizing notes before ordering
Reviewers note a relaxed, oversized fit, so consider sizing down if you want a closer silhouette.
Think about versatility beyond the beach
A cover-up dress like this one works for beach-to-café transitions, not just poolside lounging, so consider how often you'll wear it that way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it see-through?

The crochet knit pattern has small open gaps by design, so a swimsuit underneath is expected, though it offers more real coverage than sheer gauze styles.

Does it run true to size?

Several reviewers note a relaxed, slightly oversized fit, so sizing down is common advice if you prefer a closer fit.

Can I wear this somewhere other than the beach?

Yes, many reviewers wear it for beach-to-café walks, running errands post-swim, or just lounging by the pool.

What does Reddit say about beach cover-ups?

Reddit threads on summer swimwear consistently favor knit and crochet cover-ups over sheer gauze styles for the reasons reflected in this pick's 4.6★ average.
