Outdoor String Lights Edison Bulb Buying Guide: 3 Steps

Not all 'Edison bulb' string lights actually look like Edison bulbs — here's what to check before buying.

Check the Bulb Material and Finish

Look for glass or glass-look shatterproof bulbs rather than shiny plastic, since finish quality is what separates authentic-looking sets from cheap ones.

Measure Your Porch or Patio Length

25ft suits most standard porches, but larger spaces may need to link two sets together for full coverage.

Confirm Outlet Access for Plug-In Sets

Since this isn't solar-powered, make sure there's a nearby weatherproof outlet before planning your hanging layout.
