My late-night gaming setup finally stopped fighting me
I'd been gaming on this mushy old membrane keyboard for years, and one night mid-match the keys just started double-registering inputs, which is a special kind of frustrating when you're trying to actually win something.
I compared a couple mechanical keyboards with a friend over voice chat, going back and forth on switch types and whether illumination actually matters or is just a gimmick, and honestly I wasn't sure what to get.
This illuminated mechanical keyboard ended up being the one that clicked, literally and figuratively — responsive keys, backlighting I actually use in dark rooms, and zero more phantom inputs mid-game.
It's a keyboard, it shouldn't feel like an upgrade to my whole setup, but somehow it kind of did.
