Why I wrote this
I got back into collecting die-cast cars a couple years ago after finding my childhood shoebox of them in my parents' garage, and half of them were rusted or missing wheels. I went down a rabbit hole trying to find replacement pieces from the same era, comparing a few sellers' listings against old catalog photos to make sure I wasn't getting reproductions. This particular Matchbox lot turned out to be exactly the kind of find I was chasing, complete with the fire vehicle pairing that made the whole set click into place for my display shelf. Now it's the centerpiece of a little corner shelf that used to just be empty space.
