Pros & Cons
👍 Pros
- 32-piece pack means you won't run out mid-season
- 1/4 inch length works well for standard all-weather tracks
- Carbon steel holds an edge longer than cheaper alloy pins
- Bulk pack works out cheaper per spike than buying small sets
👎 Cons
- Length may be too aggressive for indoor tracks with tighter regulations
- Not compatible with every spike plate, so checking your shoe's spike wrench size matters
- Pins can still work loose over a season and need occasional retightening
🚫 Who this is NOT for
If you only run road races and never touch a track, or if your track has strict spike-length limits shorter than 1/4 inch, this particular pack isn't the right fit.

Buying Guide: How to Choose
-
Check your track's spike-length rules
Many indoor tracks cap spike length shorter than outdoor tracks allow, so confirm before buying.
-
Confirm your spike wrench size
Spikes come in different thread sizes, so match yours to your shoe's spike plate.
-
Buy in bulk if you train often
A larger pack means you're not reordering every few weeks once pins start loosening or wearing down.

How many spikes do I actually need per shoe?
Most track shoes take 6 to 8 spikes per shoe, so a 32-piece pack covers several shoes or backup sets.
Will these fit any running shoe?
They fit shoes with a standard spike plate and matching wrench size, so check your shoe's specs before ordering.
Are 1/4 inch spikes legal for indoor track?
Some indoor facilities cap spike length shorter than 1/4 inch, so it's worth checking your specific track's rules first, a topic that comes up a lot in running discussions.
Do carbon steel spikes wear out faster than alloy ones?
Generally the opposite — carbon steel tends to hold its point longer than softer alloy pins, especially on abrasive all-weather surfaces.
